My name is Peter, a former soldier of ten years, who long with his dog Finn, ply our trade of making cabinets and furniture. We have over twelve years of experience, well I do, the dog hasn't!
Going way back to the previous century, I completed my NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry and Joinery at college. From there I spent 5 years working for a local kitchen and bedroom company in Essex. Starting as an apprentice/improver, I learnt my craft and eventually proved myself and was being given work that I completed solo
However, in a complete career turn around, I joined the British Army. I served ten years in the Grenadier Guard and traveling here, there and everywhere. Having been the guards, it gave me a keen eye for detail and professionalism (blessing and a curse), in how I plan and prepare tasks, as well as making sure it is completed to the immaculately.
All things come to an end and I called it a day returned and returned to Civvie Street. I worked for a high end joinery company building orangeries until the pandemic happened. Then I decided to venture out on my own as a self-employed contractor to further gain experience. During this I was asked by a friend to design and build cabinets for a utility and boot room. We went through different designs, colours, materials, etc, and from there that's how I started working for myself.
